Sooryavanshi's 81 Seals India's 3-0 T20I Series Sweep

India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I ended with India securing a 35-run victory to complete a 3-0 sweep of the series in Harare. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred with an attacking 81 as India's total of 192/5 proved too much for Zimbabwe, who finished on 157/7 after 20 overs.

The third and final T20I at Harare Sports Club carried little uncertainty after India's victories in the opening two matches, but the visitors still produced another complete performance. Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first after winning the toss on a used surface, and India's batters adapted better than Zimbabwe to post a competitive score before the bowlers maintained control throughout the chase.

India lost Abhishek Sharma for just two in the second over when Blessing Muzarabani found the outside edge, but that proved only a brief interruption. Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued the form that had defined the series, mixing calculated aggression with sensible strike rotation.

The left-hander reached his half-century in 31 balls before accelerating further against both pace and spin. His innings featured eight fours and four sixes, including a towering 102-metre hit off Sikandar Raza. He eventually fell for 81 from 49 deliveries while attempting to clear long-off against Wessly Madhevere, narrowly missing what would have been his maiden international century.

Ishan Kishan added 29, while captain Shreyas Iyer contributed a brisk 27 from 18 balls to keep India's scoring rate above nine an over. Despite Zimbabwe pulling things back in the closing overs through Brad Evans, India closed on a strong 192/5.

Zimbabwe's chase suffered an immediate setback when Mayank Yadav struck with the very first ball of the innings. Brian Bennett edged a sharp delivery travelling at 147 km/h to first slip, giving India exactly the start they wanted.

Yash Thakur then removed Dion Myers before dismissing captain Sikandar Raza for a first-ball duck in consecutive deliveries, reducing Zimbabwe to 34/3 inside four overs. Ravi Bishnoi added another breakthrough when Ben Curran departed attempting a reverse sweep, leaving the hosts chasing the game.

Ryan Burl resisted with a composed half-century, while Wessly Madhevere contributed 28 during a 60-run partnership that briefly slowed India's progress. However, Mayank returned to dismiss Madhevere before removing Brad Evans later in the innings, while Ashok Sharma celebrated his maiden international wicket when he bowled Tadiwanashe Marumani.

Zimbabwe eventually closed on 157/7, falling 35 runs short of India's target.

Sooryavanshi's performances defined the series. After an explosive fifty in the opening match and a brief innings in the second, he produced his most complete knock in the decider.

His ability to adjust to the increasingly slow Harare surface stood out as much as his attacking strokeplay. Rather than relying solely on power, he rotated strike effectively before targeting specific bowlers once set. That approach helped India build a total that remained beyond Zimbabwe throughout the chase.

Meanwhile, Mayank Yadav finished as India's leading wicket-taker across the three-match series with five wickets, providing early breakthroughs that repeatedly placed Zimbabwe under pressure.

The clean sweep provides India with another successful bilateral T20I series after responding strongly following difficult results earlier in the season. Three victories from three matches reflected India's superiority with both bat and ball, while Zimbabwe were unable to convert promising passages into sustained pressure.

For Zimbabwe, Ryan Burl's fighting half-century offered one of the few positives in the final match, but regular wickets prevented any realistic challenge to India's target.

India now leave Harare having won every match in the series, while Zimbabwe will turn their attention to upcoming international assignments as they look to regroup after a difficult home campaign.
