England all-rounder Sam Curran believes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned the attention surrounding his remarkable rise but says the 15-year-old's biggest challenge will be coping with the expectations that come with representing India. Curran described the teenager as "pretty special" while warning that success at international level will depend on how he handles the spotlight.

Curran made the remarks before the second T20I of England's five-match home series against India, where anticipation over Sooryavanshi's international debut continues to grow. The Rajasthan Royals batter has yet to earn his first senior cap despite a prolific IPL 2026 campaign that pushed him firmly into the national selection conversation.

Curran said he followed Sooryavanshi closely during the IPL and was impressed by how naturally the youngster played against established bowlers.
